The Use of Art as Advocacy

Pamela's work on the Art as Advocacy front has focused on encouraging and using artistic expression to open people's hearts and minds so that they can better understand the messages and information she is trying to impart. These artistic works have included theater, film, music, music videos, and still art, like the one below.

This and other similar pieces are the outcome of a partnership with the organization begun by Pamela and Herb Cohen. They are envisioned as inspirational and educational postcards (handouts and mailers), signs, and billboards. They will be part of comprehensive awareness, prevention, and healing programs.

Using art to help people synthesize information, learn, and grow is one technique that Pamela brings to the classroom, training forum, and lecture hall.

Pamela finds and uses everyday items that can help synthesize and encourage understanding. She brings images from her photography and her and others' art into training and lecture halls and classrooms. She encourages others, too, to use art to synthesize their learning and understanding.

Hit by Lightning, a music video with music and lyrics by Amy Pine and sung by Tamora Pellikka, is one of the many pieces that Pamela uses to open hearts and minds to help people take in, process, and understand complex information.
